This research attempts to identify and analyze the manifestations, icons and strategies used by the political authority in Morocco to highlight their public and social presence in urban spaces of cities, in particular Tetuan. The use of certain symbols and the occupation or appropriation of urban spaces on the part of the political authorities (principally monarchy and government) may possibly represent a strategy of public presence and, explicitly or implicitly, transmits certain values and messages related to power

The group inverse of subdivision networks

    Get PDF
In this paper, given a network and a subdivision of it, we show how the Group Inverse of the subdivision network can be related to the Group Inverse of initial given network. Our approach establishes a relationship between solutions of related Poisson problems on both networks and takes advantatge on the definition of the Group Inverse matrix.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

Effective resistances and Kirchhoff index in subdivision networks

We define a subdivision network ¿S of a given network ¿; by inserting a new vertex in every edge, so that each edge is replaced by two new edges with conductances that fulfill electrical conditions on the new network. In this work, we firstly obtain an expression for the Green kernel of the subdivision network in terms of the Green kernel of the base network. Moreover, we also obtain the effective resistance and the Kirchhoff index of the subdivision network in terms of the corresponding parameters on the base network. Finally, as an example, we carry out the computations in the case of a wheel.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

    Shortest Paths in Distance-regular Graphs

AbstractWe aim here to introduce a new point of view of the Laplacian of a graph, Γ. With this purpose in mind, we consider L as a kernel on the finite space V(Γ), in the context of the Potential Theory. Then we prove that L is a nice kernel, since it verifies some fundamental properties such as maximum and energy principles and the equilibrium principle on any proper subset of V(Γ). If Γ is a proper set of a suitable host graph, then the equilibrium problem for Γ can be solved and the number of the different components of its equilibrium measure leads to a bound on the diameter of Γ. In particular, we obtain the structure of the shortest paths of a distance-regular graph. As a consequence, we find the intersection array in terms of the equilibrium measure. Finally, we give a new characterization of strongly regular graphs

Social Interaction: A Crucial Means to Promote Sustainability in Initial Teacher Training

    Get PDF
This study aims to identify the set of elements in the educational process that affect the creation of a teaching profile consistent with the principles of sustainability. In this research, we focus on identifying those sustainability attributes related to understanding social interaction and its role in the learning process of logical-mathematical knowledge. Social interaction is an essential part of the principle of collaboration. The study participants were 133 future teachers, students of the degree in Early Childhood Education at the Universidad de Cádiz (Spain). Qualitative methods and techniques were used to collect data, and mixed methods and techniques were employed for their analysis. The data relating to the student’s perception of the importance of social interaction in learning were gathered through the final reports produced by the students. The data were processed by classifying them into categories and subcategories. The meaning condensation method used enabled identifying 33 sustainability attributes linked to socio-cultural learning. Those attributes identify and describe the internal dynamics of cooperative learning and show the synergies and interrelationships between social interactions, socio-cognitive conflict and language. The results stress the importance of a meaningful understanding of the role of social interaction in learning in order to promote the principles of sustainabilit

Epilithic diatoms in the Upper Laja River Basin, Guanajuato, Mexico

This study investigates the epilithic diatoms from the Dolores and Laja Rivers, located within the Upper Laja River Basin, Guanajuato, Mexico. The samples were collected during the cold-dry (January) and rainy (October) seasons of 2011. One-hundred seventy three infrageneric taxa were identified, 7 of which are new records for Mexico: Fallacia monoculata, Hantzschia abundans, Navigiolum uruguayense, Neidium bisulcatum, Nitzschia solita, Planothidium incuriatum and Sellaphora bacilloides; it is worth mentioning that Navigiolum is a new record at the genus level. Furthermore, 3 species are new records for the state of Guanajuato: Gomphonema laticollum, G. subclavatum and Gomphosphenia lingulatiformis. Teratological forms of 6 species were also found in the sampling sites with higher nutrient concentrations, with relative abundances varying from 0.8 to 8.3%
